A mobile application which allows people to share photos which stays alive only a limited amount of time, such as ten seconds. It is widely used among young people and celebrities.

With the last features added to instagram, SnapChat is kind of loosing it's popularity. Facebook have tried to buy SnapChat for $3 Billion but the founder of the application didn't accept it. Then instead of SnapChat, Facebook bought instagram and made it something quite similar to SnapChat. I hope Evan Thomas Spiegel doesn't regret his decision.

I have never used that application but I can see that it's audience is pubertic junkies.

These kind of applications will eventually fall before monopoly guys such as Facebook an Twitter. Because they integrate their products with each other so well, they become much more appealing to the users. Facebook's Instagram and Twitter's Vine. Instead of competing the just buy the company.
